A Thousand Lives
By Arthur Resvechkis
I could live a thousand lives before
You’d ever notice
I could rid the evil from the whole damn world
Before you’d notice
And in the end, I’d say to you or should
I’d say man you missed on something good
Second saddest thing of all
Is I’m inclined to let you go
But the saddest part of all
Is that you didn’t even know
It could be so cold your body shivers
We’re in a blizzard, your lips are blue
I offer you my coat but you don’t see me
Your future hubby has no clue
And in the end you lay on him pretty thick
He gives in but makes a joke how he’ll get sick
Second saddest thing of all
Is I’m inclined to let you go
But the saddest part of all
Is that you didn’t even know
